Wildwood on Tour

During the first quarter of 2016, Wildwood PR picked up the tradeshow baton and represented various clients at two leading international trade events: Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) and Light + Building. Here, Oli Brown, Account Executive at Wildwood PR, speaks about his first forays into the world of international trade shows.
Wildwood’s European tour kicked off in February with ISE. Taking place every year at the RAI exhibition centre in Amsterdam, ISE is the world’s largest AV and system integration show and can best be described as a vast, multi-sensory exploration into the world of audio and visual. Growing each year, the event lifts the lid on all of the latest technological developments in the industry. Having never attended ISE before, the sheer size and scale of the show was astounding.
In total, Wildwood had 14 clients exhibiting at ISE. Our duties included juggling a jam-packed press appointment schedule, supporting product launches, attending award evenings, liaising with journalists, holding prize giveaways, and much more. As time is precious at the show, it was important to react to changing circumstances on the day and stay in close contact with the rest of the team. Rising to the challenge, we racked up some serious miles on our pedometers thanks to the sprawling show floors. It was exciting to be a part of such a vibrant show teaming with the latest technologies.
Wildwood PR also had an additional role at the show as the official press room sponsor. In addition to working with 14 exhibiting clients, Wildwood managed the press room alongside a truly international group of editors throughout the four day event.
As an introduction to an international trade show, there was no better place for me to start, and it was fantastic to get hands-on and work directly alongside some fantastic clients at an international event. After a whirlwind week, a happy-yet-exhausted Wildwood team headed home for a well-earned weekend rest.
Just a few short weeks after ISE, it was time for Wildwood to head to Germany for Light+Building 2016 at the Messe Frankfurt. A biennial event, Light+Building is the world’s leading lighting and building services show that attracted 216,000 visitors this year.
Light+Building provided an altogether different challenge to ISE. Working predominantly with one client and situated on the stand, strong product knowledge was required. One of the main roles during the show was to assist a production team capturing photographs and videos, as well as liaising with the media on their behalf. Overseeing many video shoots in a multitude of languages certainly kept the Wildwood team on their toes throughout the fast-paced five day show.
Both ISE 2016 and Light+Building 2016 proved highly successful for our clients and the respective industries as a whole.
